After completion of his graduation, he decided to prepare for the UPSC exam preparations. During his interview in the IAS exam. Lt. Gen Surendra Nath sir asked him the last question Why did you come into this world? For this question, he explained his struggle so far. Vishwas Nangare Patil is from a rural background. When he was preparing for the UPSC exam, he woke up at 3 am in the morning to catch the first local train from Ambivali station. He used to stay at his cousin’s house, which was almost 80km from CST, to reach CST Mumbai railway station. Later, he used to be the first person to reach the library every day at 5.30 am and continuously studied till 8:30 pm.
Besides, he used to wear only one pair of jeans and a t-shirt throughout the week and couldn’t afford food at hotels’ rice plates beyond Rs.15. If we look at his family background, his parents were not educated. His father had completed his education till the 4th standard & his mother till the 2nd standard.
Career of Vishwas Nangare Patil
Later, he was selected as the IPS officer at the young age of 25. He was posted to Dhule, Nanded, Aurangabad, and various other cities in Maharashtra. Besides, he loved gaining knowledge. Therefore, he did MBA in Police Management and LLB. In 2016, Vishwas Nangare Patil held the current position of special Inspector General (IG) of Aurangabad. Further, talking about the incident in Mumbai Attacks, Vishwas Nangare Patil was in the DCP, zone 1. Additionally, he and his bodyguard Amit entered the hotel without a bulletproof jacket or modern weapons. There were around 400 – 500 people present. The shocking thing is that his family had no idea about it during the whole time, and they had already started preparing for his funeral at his native place by looking at the deaths of other officers.
Later, at 4.30 AM the following day, another IPS officer listened to his voice on the wireless communication. Then, he returned home after NSG commandos took control of the rescue operation. Therefore, he was awarded President’s medal (shaurya padak) for his role during this gun battle. So, we can say that he was aware of his duties, and he showed bravery in the attack.
