To begin with, Navniet Sekera was born on 22 October 1971 in Shikohabad, Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. Further, he is from the 1996 batch IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, currently serving as the Additional Director General (ADG) of Uttar Pradesh Police.

His father’s name is Manohar Singh Yadav. Navniet Sekera wife, Dr. Pooja Sekera, is a social activist who works for women’s empowerment against oppression. Further, he cleared JEE and enrolled in IIT Roorkee, where he completed his B.E in Computer Science Engineering. Later, he completed an MBA in IIT Roorkee, School of Business.

IPS Officer Eligibility

In the first place, IPS stands for Indian Police Service, and it is one of the three All India Services. This exam is conducted as a  part of the civil services exam. Further, there are two modes of recruitment to the IPS. They are :

  1. Promotion of State Police Service Officers
  2. Civil Services Examination conducted by the UPSC

  • Age Limit: must be between 21 years
  • Educational Qualification: Graduation from any recognized University
  • Number of attempts: 6 attempts for the General category

The career of SSP Navniet Sekera

  • Navneet Sekera joined the Indian Police Service in 1996, and his first posting was as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Gorakhpur.
  • Further, after serving for the period of 14 years IPS officer for nearly 14 years, he cleared his GMAT and joined the School of Business. He did MBA in Finance, Strategy, and Leadership.
  • In 2001, Navniet Sekera was promoted to Superintendent of Police and posted as (DIG) Deputy Inspector General of Police in 2012.
  • In 2014, he was promoted to Inspector General of Police and was subsequently appointed Inspector General (IG) of Mahila Power Line, Uttar Pradesh.
