Introduction

To begin with, IES’s full form is Indian Engineering Services, which the Government of India conducts. Then, they will select the students from engineering backgrounds by conducting the exam. They will work under the government of India and be designated as Class – 1 officers. Like IAS Exam, this exam also consists of three stages: the Preliminary exam, the main exam, and the Interview round.

A Citizen of India, or Bhutan, or a subject of Nepal or a Tibetan refugee who came to India over 1962.

Educational Qualifications

  • So, candidates must have a degree in Engineering from a government-recognized university.
  • Or then again passed Section An and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institute of Engineers (India). Or on the other hand
  • Acquired a degree/certificate in Engineering from such unfamiliar University/College/Institution which the public authority perceives
  • Or Passed Graduate Membership Examination under the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers. Or
  • If you have passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III under Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India

Physical Standards

  • In the first place, all must follow the medical examination rule, which are set by the respective authority.
  • At that point, each up-and-comer, should go through a clinical assessment as and when so chose by the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) regardless of the way that he/she has showed up for such clinical assessment before and tracked down the fit/unsuitable dependent on prior assessment.
  • At last, applicants should be in great shape as per actual norms for admission to Engineering Services Examination, according to rules are referenced in true warning of the Rules for the Engineering Services Examination,

Age Limit

Lastly, we have Age Limit. So, according to the rule, the candidates age must fall between 21 to 30. But, relaxation is provided for the categories like

  • In the first place, up to a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to an SC and ST. Three years for OBC category
  • If you are from Jammu and Kashmir then it is five years.
  • Then, five years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs
  • Lastly, 10 years in the case of blind, deaf-mute and Orthopaedically handicapped persons

So, if you belong to any specific category which we have mentioned above, you will get relaxation with your age.

Pattern – IES Exam

So, understanding the syllabus of the exam. Let us first know the exam pattern. As we have already mentioned above, it consists of three stages.

  • There are two papers in the prelims and the main exam.
  • Paper 1 is General studies and aptitude
  • Both the papers are of your choice of various engineering branches

So, Prelims exam Paper 1 is 200 marks, and Paper 2 is 300 marks, time duration 2 hours and 3 hours respectively.

Then next, we have the main paper. So, in the main paper, there are total marks of 600 each paper with 300 marks. Then the duration is 3 hours.

Salary – IES Exam

So, Knowing the IES Salary will help candidates to keep themselves motivated towards the IES Exam Preparation.  Then, IES salary package is according to 7th CPC. Then, it is divided into three classes and they will receive the salary according to the city they are posted in.

 The three classes are listed below – Class A, B, C.

  • Lastly, C – Village + Small Cities

  4. In Part-II registration, upload your scanned photograph and the signature.
  5. Lastly, pay the prescribed application fee amount.  Then, submit the IES application form.  Finally, you must download the ESE application form and take a printout of the same for future reference.
