CAPF’s full form is Central Armed Police Force. UPSC conducts the CAPF Exam. The exam takes place once a year. The selected candidates serve in BSF, CRPF, etc. Hence, it’s an imminent exam. What is UPSC CAPF Exam?

UPSC CAPF Exam recruits future officers.

The CAPF Assistant Commandants are recruited in the following forces:

  • Border Security Force (BSF)
  • Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
  • Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
  • Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)

When candidates clear the UPSC CAPF Exam, they will be posted as a CAPF Assistant Commander first. However, there are different stages to this exam. It is one of the prestigious jobs in India. CAPF Exam Date Notification

UPSC releases the CAPF notice every year. It sets the CAPF exam date. Further, it also decides the exam pattern and syllabus. We will look at some imp exam dates now. UPSC has notified it’s 2021 exam notification. The UPSC CAPF Exam is set to begin on August 8th, 2021. However, a detailed notice will be released on 15th April 2021. The online fee must be paid in May itself. Moreover, you can download the admit card b/s July to August 2021. Lastly, candidates can appear for the exam on 8th August 2021. UPSC CAPF Exam Pattern

Firstly, there’s a written exam phase. There are 2 written papers. Paper one is a general ability test. This is an MCQ type test. Hence, it will test your GK. Further, let’s look at paper two. This paper is descriptive in nature. Moreover, it tests the language skills of a candidate. Paper One lasts only for 2 hours. It contains 200 questions. Hence, it carries 250 marks. Further, Paper two lasts for 3 hours. Hence, it carries 200 marks. However, there are only 6 descriptive questions in this paper. Moreover, there’s a negative marking of 0.33 marks for every incorrect answer. However, this rule is applicable only for a paper one. Hence, paper two is safe from negative marks.

There is a total of three phases to the UPSC CAPF Exam. Now we will head towards the second phase. This is a physical ability test. Here a candidate’s physical strength and caliber will be tested. Further, paper two is an essay type test. It checks your language fluency. Mostly, it tests your written vocabulary skills. This paper has two parts. Part A carries 80 marks. On the other hand, Part B is for 120 marks. UPSC CAPF Exam Eligibility

We’ve seen the UPSC CAPF Exam Pattern and Syllabus. But to attempt the exam, you must be eligible in certain areas. Hence, let’s now look at the CAPF Assistant Commandant Eligibility criteria. CAPF Full Form is Central Armed Police Force. Firstly, we’ll talk about the age limit for the exam. The min age limit is 20 years. Whereas, the max-age limit is 25 years as of Aug 1 of your attempt year. However, there are age relaxations for the reserved categories. SC/ST & Ex-servicemen enjoy a 5-year relaxation. J&K residents enjoy the same relaxation. However, OBC category students enjoy a 3-year relaxation within the age limit.

Further, let’s look at the UPSC CAPF Exam’s educational qualification criteria. One must hold a bachelor’s degree from a good university. Further, let’s see the physical criteria. For men, the min-height is 165 cm. For women, it’s 157 cm. Further, for men, the chest should be 81 cm. The measure is unexpanded. This criterion doesn’t apply to women. Further, men should have a min weight of 50 kg. Moreover, women can have a min weight of 46 kg.

UPSC Assistant Commandant Salary

The UPSC Assistant Commandant Salary differs as per the post. A DG enjoys gets the max salary. The pay scale is INR 2,25,000 for a DG. The minimum salary is 56,100. Mostly, Asst. Commandants receive it at the start of their careers. However, there’s always a scope for increments. Further, you will receive various allowances in addition to this salary. Hence, as your post increases, your salary increases. The promotion comes to hard workers. Hence, bravery is rewarded. How many times can I attempt the UPSC CAPF Exam?

Yes, you can apply for the exam if you’re in your last year of graduation. However, you will have to present your age later to verify you eligibility. The minimum age required is 20 years. Hence, you must have completed 20 years of age at the time of verification.
