How to Apply Online for UPSC 2020 Exam?
UPSC Form 2020 is available on the official website from February 12, 2020. Moreover, the candidates get the advice to collect their documents before starting with the CSE Registration process of IAS 2020. Steps that the aspirants have to follow to fill the UPSC form are as follows:
1. CSE Registration 2020
- Visit the UPSC official website i.e. upsc.gov.in
- Then, click on the link ‘UPSC Civil Services Examination 2020’ under the Active Examinations section.
- Candidates have to fill in their Personal, Parental, Educational, and Employment details.
- There will be six modules for the aspirants. So, keep saving every module after filling in all the details.
- You can further make changes before its final submission. You cannot do any changes further after the final submission, therefore fill UPSC Form 2020 Application very carefully.
- A few of the columns have to be auto-fill with the details that they took from your CSE Registration form.
- You cannot change these details, however, in case of any error, the candidate can form a separate representation to the commission.

2. UPSC Online Registration Application Fee
A fee of INR 100 is needed for CSE Registration. Moreover, the SC/ST/PwD and the female candidates are now exempted from the UPSC application fee payment.

- The application fee for UPSC Online Registration can be paid in both offline and online mode.
- For an offline method of fee payment, the candidate must remit the amount in any of the SBI branches.
- Besides, for online options, the candidate can choose either the SBI Net Banking facility or the payment through a debit/credit/ Rupay card.
- So, the candidates paying cash will need to take a print out of the system generated Pay-in-slip.
- The Pay in Slip is generated during the CSE Registration process.
- However, cash must be deposited at the counter of an SBI Branch on the very next working day only.
- Therefore, the candidates who fail to pay the fee by cash by the closing date, despite having valid pay-in-slip, will have to resort to the online modes of fee payment.

3. UPSC 2020 Center Selection
- Now, the candidates will get an option to choose the examination center.
- Moreover, the candidates can select their exam city of their choice.
4. Uploading Photograph and Signature

IAS 2020 Application Form Guidelines
The following pointers should be kept in mind while registering for the UPSC exam 2020. It is of utmost significance to follow the mentioned instructions.
- The IAS candidate must not impersonate any other person to submit a successful application.
- So, offering illegal gratification to a person who is related to the exam conducting body so as to have their application accepted must not be engaged in.
- Moreover, applying pressure on any member of the exam authority in relation to the application process is strictly prohibited.
- Thus, threatening or blackmailing any of the authorities is strictly not allowed.
- Submitting the fabricated documents or documents that have been tampered with as part of the application is strictly prohibited.
- However, the candidates must refrain from making incorrect or false statements with regard to their UPSC application.
- So, submitting multiple applications should be avoided.
- Besides, in the case of multiple applications, the application with a higher Registration ID (RID) will be considered.
- So, the candidate must ensure that the application with the higher RID is complete in all respects.
- Therefore, care must be taken to provide a valid and the active email address at the application time.
How to pay the IAS Exam application fee?
The candidates can pay the UPSC Online Registration fee in online or offline mode.
- Online mode: Certainly, the candidates can make their online payment of application fee via RuPay/Master/VISA/ credit/ debit card or internet banking of SBI.
- Offline mode: Candidates can make offline payment of application fee by paying cash at any SBI branches. Regarding this, the UPSC official website states that “The UPSC applicants who choose for the ‘Pay by Cash’ mode have to print the system generated pay-in-slip during part II CSE Registration and deposit its fee at the SBI branch counter on the next working day only.” So, the candidates must note that the ‘Pay by Cash’ mode will be deactivated one day prior to the application process closes. However, the UPSC candidates who have made their pay-in-slip prior to the process are deactivated can later easily make their payment at any SBI’s branch during their banking hours on the closing date.

Once the UPSC application fee is paid, then the UPSC candidates have to click on the Continue button there present on the site and fill out in their preference for the Civil Services Examination center. Therefore, the candidates are required to upload their scanned photo along with the signature as per the specification mentioned below:

Certainly, the candidates need to click on the Continue button. So, by clicking the button, a declaration page will show on the screen. Moreover, the candidates need to click on the “I Agree” button to agree to the declaration given by UPSC. Therefore, the candidates can submit the UPSC Form by clicking on the Submit button.
Step 2: Fill UPSC Apply Online Part II Application Form
Firstly, to proceed with part-II registration, the candidates are required to click on the “Click Here” for Part II link which is present on the UPSC official website. So, by clicking the link, a new page will appear wherein the candidates need to enter their CSE Registration ID as well as the date of birth (DOB) and then click on the Submit button. However, by clicking the button, the Civil Services Exam Part-II application form will open on the screen. Therefore, the candidates need to enter all the asked details and then click on the Submit button.
So, on the submission of part-II online CSE Registration form, the UPSC candidates for IAS Exam application process will be complete.
Note: The candidates have to fill out the separate application forms for IAS prelims and mains exam. Moreover, the official UPSC website informs, “In case of any information/ clarification/guidance regarding their applications, the candidature, etc the candidates can contact the UPSC’s Facilitation Counter near the gate C of the UPSC campus in person or over the telephone number 011-23385271/ 011-23098543 on their working days between 10.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs.”
FAQs I UPSC Online Registration
A UPSC candidate gets three weeks to one month to complete the whole application procedure. However, the online application process has been started from Feb 12, 2020, and candidates will be able to fill the application form till March 3, 2020.
The UPSC Commission does not allow to change the Date of Birth (DOB) which has been furnished by the UPSC candidate and recorded by the Commission on many grounds. So, it is advised that the candidates should provide the correct information at the time of the UPSC online application process.
A candidate who is found to be furnishing false information to the UPSC Commission or suppressing such information, thereby adopting the various unfair means in the examination like impersonation, etc., is then liable to be disqualified or may be debarred from writing IAS Exam as decided by the UPSC Commission.
