On January 7, 1988, in a small village in Sakri taluka, Rajendra was born. He doesn’t know what his father looked like because his father passed away while his mother was pregnant with him. The entire family stayed under one hut made up of sugarcane leaves. His mother and grandmother raised three children, including Rajendra, by selling desi wine made up of Mahua flowers. They were penniless. His family used to earn 100 rupees a day. They had no land, no property. This was used for their daily expenses and education.

Dr. Rajendra Bharud and his sister attended Zilla Parishad school, while his brother participated at a local tribal school. At the age of 3, because of hunger, he used to cry. His crying caused trouble to the drinker (customer). So when he cries, they feed him a teaspoon of alcohol so that his hunger would go away, and he remains silent. Dr. Rajendra Bharud said that when he had a cold or cough, he was made to drink alcohol as a medicine.
People who come to drink alcohol give him extra money to buy snacks. With this money, he would buy books to study. He used to sit on the platform outside his home to learn. When he grew up, He started helping his mother. He used to get peanuts & snacks for the customer. Later he studied hard, and he was always among the top students. In the 10th board exam, he scored 95% and 90% in the 12th class. In 2006 he cleared his medical entrance exam. Since childhood, his dream has been to become a doctor and help other people. Cleared UPSC In First Attempt
Later Dr. Rajendra Bharud realized that to help people, and he had to become a civil servant. Being on his own was difficult, but he really wanted to help the poor, and this was his dream. In 2015, at Nanded district, He was posted as the Assistant Collector and Project Officer, and he was assigned as the Chief Executive Officer of Solapur in 2017. Finally, In July 2018, he became the collector of Nandurbar. This was a massive reward for him and his district.

During the second wave of Covid-19, Dr. Rajendra Bharud, Nandurbar’s district collector in Maharashtra, has managed to keep everything under control. When the entire country was struggling during the pandemic. Dr. Bharud managed to run the district with an adequate supply of oxygen, isolation wards for Covid-19 patients, Hospital beds, and a well-planned vaccination drive.
