The IPS training centre is present in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
The IPS training centre is headed by a Director, an IPS officer of Director General of Police. Then, assisted by 2 Joint Directors of the Inspector General of Police, 3 Deputy Directors of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, and 20 Assistant Directors. Besides, Assisted Directors include 8 IPS/SPS officers of the Superintendent of Police from state cadres, a Forensic Scientist, a Judicial Service Officer, a specialist each in Training Methodology, Computers, and Wireless. IPS Officer Training – SVPNPA

- To begin with, Foundation Course for the period of 3 months in LBSNAA, Mussoorie
- Phase I training for 11 months at SVPNPA, Hyderabad.
- District Practical Training for 6 months at the respective cadre
- Lastly, Phase II training for 1 month Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), Hyderabad
To begin with, the foundation course will happen in LBSNAA, Mussoorie, with all other civil servants. Later, they move on to the phase I part of the training. It is also called the Basic Course. It is conducted at the SVPNPA.
Objectives of the Foundation Course

Police Academy Training – Second Phase
After completing the first phase of the training, there will be the second phase of training. The second phase of the training is about enhancing knowledge about the state cadre. Further, the training happens at State Police Academies for the duration of 3 weeks, and that will also include their state language. Then, it includes practical training components; there, they will handle police stations.
