Exam Criteria – PPSC Exam

Nationality

So, to write the PPSC Exam, a candidate must be a citizen of

  1. Citizen of India
  2. Or Citizen of Nepal
  3. Or Citizen of Bhutan
  4. Then, people from Tibet who arrived in India January 1962 and who stayed in India.
  5. Lastly, people who came from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, African countries who settled in India.

Education Qualification

Then, coming to Education Qualification. Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from any Government recognized University. Also, Candidates should have passed the SSLC Examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects.

Age Limit

To write PPSC Exam, candidates age must fall in between age 21-37years can apply for the examination. But, one should take care with the different categories and respective relaxation with the age.

Number of Attempts

Then, coming to the number of attempts, for the people belonging to the General Category, there are totally 6 chances. For Backward classes 9 attempts and for SC unlimited. Lastly, for Ex-servicemen total of 4 attempts.

Exam Pattern – PPSC Exam

To begin with, the Prelims Paper totally consists of two papers. Papers are of objective type with 100 and 80 marks respectively and time given is 2 hours for each.

Main Exam

Then, next is the Main Exam. So, as per rule, a candidate has to give 4 General Studies papers for PPSC Mains 2020 and it is of descriptive type.

It has two papers, one is General Studies and the other is the Civil Services Aptitude Test.

The second paper of Prelims will check your knowledge on English Reasoning skills and basic Mathematics, and lastly Data Analysis. In detail –

So, it mainly includes, Reading Comprehensions, Logical and Analytical skills, Data Analysis, and Communication skills

Main Exam

Then, check out the syllabus of the Main Exam. So, each paper consists of 250 marks and the duration are 3 hours. Then, the question paper is will be the English language. Also, you can choose Punjabi medium.

Interview Round

Lastly, we have the Interview round in Punjab Civil Services Exam. You can only give this round, after clearing both the papers, Prelims and the Mains. So, in this round, you will be checked on the basic skills which are essential for the role. Then, for this particular round, you should practice by watching interviews by toppers. There are many platforms where you can take tips. So, along with the other two papers prepare well for the interview also.

Upload scanned passport-sized photograph and a mark with size, not more than 40KB.
